Welcome
The Carrivick Sisters are 18 year old twin sisters Laura and Charlotte Carrivick from South Devon. They play a variety of bluegrass instruments (mainly guitar, mandolin, dobro and fiddle) with vocal harmonies and are both songwriters. Their musical interests have varied considerably through the years meaning that elements from a variety of genres are brought into their music. The twins have been playing at home together and busking for many years and started gigging as a duo these past couple of years. Their gigs have taken them as far afield as Holland and Austria as well as all over the UK. They won the 2007 South West Buskers and Street Entertainers competition gaining them a place at Glastonbury 2008!

BBC Upstaged
Charlotte and Laura have entered the live stage of the new BBC Competition 'Upstaged' (www.bbc.co.uk/upstaged)Held at the Millenium Square in Bristol. If you can't make it to Bristol, you can watch live streaming of the event on the website and on BBCi. And remember to vote for us on the website too! During our time in the box we will do a number of performances. We also aim to do a few things for which we need your help! 1. Write and arrange a new song: we want you to contact us with your suggestions for song topics 2. Requests: if you leave us a comment requesting a song or tune with a link to where we can hear it (e.g. youtube, myspace) we will do our best to learn it beforehand and perform it while we're in there. 3. Jamming sessions: any fellow bluegrass/folk/acoustic musicians out there please feel free to come and have a jam. We are not entirely sure how this will work out on the day as we don't know whether we would be able to hear eachother... but we'd love to try!.
Champions
Charlotte and Laura have played a total of 24 hours on stage broadcasting live. They first entered the stage at Bristols Millenium Square on Monday 4th February where they played for 6 hours and wowed the viewers to beat fellow contestant Terry the odd job man though to the next day. They continued their reign over fellow contestants with 4 days solid in the box when they finally left on Thursday the 7th February having become the first act to stay the full length in the box.
